INFORMATION LETTER

The I.S. Lupinovich Belarusian Agricultural Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus together with the Yakub Kolas Institute of Linguistics of the Center for Studies of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus are organizing the International scientific conference “Actual Problems of Agricultural Terminology”, which will take place on November 27, 2025.

THE CONFERENCE TOPICS:

  • Agricultural terminology and terminography: retrospective of development, current state and
    prospects.
  • Current trends and problems of research of specialized agricultural vocabulary.
  • Features of the formation and functioning of terms in different areas of the agriculture.
  • Interactions between different disciplines and subject areas and agricultural terminology.
  • Dialects and archaisms in the modern agricultural terminology system.
  • The role of globalization and internationalization in the formation of agricultural vocabulary.
  • Synonymy, duplication, equivalence and variability of terms in agricultural specialized vocabulary. Problems of harmonization, normativity and standardization of agricultural terminology.
  • Agricultural terms and concepts in various types of communication. The role of terminology in the formalized presentation of agricultural scientific knowledge.
  • Theoretical and practical problems of teaching professional agricultural vocabulary.
  • Agrarian terminology in the context of corpus-based research and computer linguistics.
  • Involvement of terminology in the modern search infrastructure of the global web space: development, maintenance and use of digital linguistic means (corpora, dictionaries, thesauri,
    information retrieval languages, etc.).

The conference working languages are Belarusian, Russian, and English.

THE CONFERENCE WILL BRING TOGETHER:

  • scientists, early career researchers, graduate students, doctoral students;
  • teachers of educational institutions;
  • representatives of library, museum and archival institutions;
  • managers and specialists working in the field of science, education, culture, information,
    editorial work, agriculture;
  • anyone interested in philology and linguistics.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION:

The paper submission deadline for the Organizing Committee is October 05, 2025, e-mail: .
The registration deadline for the conference participants is October 15, 2025 on the library website https://belal.by/.
Time limit for presentations (including questions and answers) at the plenary session is up to 25 minutes; on sectional sessions – up to 15 minutes.
There is no registration fee to participate in the Conference.
Participants will need to cover all transport, accommodation and food related expenses themselves.
Payment for travel, accommodation and meals is at the expense of conference participants or delegating institutions (organizations).

SCIENTIFIC PAPERS:

Scientific papers must report original scientific and applied research, correspond to the Conference topics, and must not have been published or submitted elsewhere.
The submitted papers cannot exceed six pages of A4 format including abstracts, illustrations, appendices, diagrams, etc. Each participant can present no more than two scientific papers.
The Conference proceedings will be available on the Scientific Electronic Library platform eLIBRARY.RU and on the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI)  http://elibrary.ru.

The submitted papers must meet the following requirements:

  • text must be in MS Word processing format, 14 point Times New Roman regular font (Times New Roman Cyrillic);
  • line spacing: single line spacing;
  • justified alignment;
  • paragraph indentation: 1,25 mm;
  • page margins: top and bottom: 20 mm, left: 25 mm, right: 10 mm.
  • charts, diagrams, photos, screenshots, etc.: JPG format;
  • UDC index: left alignment, no indentation
  • in Belarusian, Russian and English: the paper title (in bold); the full names and affiliations of the author(s) / co-authors; the city and the country, e-mails; center aligned;
  • in Belarusian, Russian and English: the paper title (in bold); the full names of the author(s) / co-authors; affiliations of the author(s) / co-authors: name of the organization, e-mails; center aligned;
  • in Belarusian, Russian and English: the abstract and keywords which accurately describe the contents of the paper. The abstract can not exceed 850 characters (including spaces); in italic font;
  • the reference list should be arrange in accordance with mention in the text of paper and must correspond the Instructions of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus, in-text references should be indicated by square brackets with page number – [2, p. 72–75];
  • a sample of a scientific paper outline see below.

Papers that do not meet the requirements above, WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

After the text of the paper, information about the authors is indicated: surname, first name, patronymic (in full); academic degree and title (if any); name (in full) and address of the institution that the author represents, position; contact telephone number; e-mail.

The Conference Organizing Committee has the right to include or reject the inclusion of the received papers into the Conference program and the Conference proceedings.
